RETNA Installation Downtown LA
Brandon Coburn invited Retna aka Marquis Lewis to paint an installation in the 01 Gallery pop up location in Los Angeles, Downtown at the Santee Village.
After visiting the space on several occasions to plan the installation, Marquis decided that painting the columns would be the perfect way to enhance the space.
The five columns march through the space like soldiers with the names of other street writers and figures that Marquis is inspired by. The space became very well known and the paintings lasted in the space long after the pop up project was over.
